Partnerships for Success

What is Partnerships for Success in Tuolumne County?

Partnerships for Success is a grant that was awarded to eight counties through Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services, SAMHSA. Tuolumne County was selected to be awarded the grant in 2017. The grant is four years long and will run fully funded through June 2021. The overall goal of the grant is to provide a comprehensive, evidence-based approach to prevent prescription drug misuse and abuse among young people from 12 to 25 years old.

The grant works out of Tuolumne County Behavioral Health and has a .9 Program Specialist dedicated to the efforts of the grant. The grant efforts focus on:

  • Community awareness and education
  • Stigma Reduction
  • Increase awareness and access to services
  • Change in social norms

How are we working with the community?

Partnerships for Success, PFS, is connecting with agencies and nonprofits throughout Tuolumne County. PFS is an active member of the Opioid Coalition and dedicates time and effort with the committee to address safer prescribing practices, mediation assisted treatment, and communication and prevention. In addition, PFS is committed to continuous outreach efforts to education and create awareness about the Opioid Crisis. Presentations on not only the crisis, but Tuolumne County’s efforts toward change, are given regularly to agencies, nonprofits, partnerships, and local organizations.
